Our Key Issues
Kids can’t thrive on empty stomachs.
We’re breaking the silence on child hunger.
Nutritious food is a necessity — not a luxury. SCAN is leading the fight to end child hunger by building relationships with lawmakers, activating our network of grassroots advocates and supporting sustainable solutions for the world’s hardest-to-reach communities.
March 24 @ 8:00 am – 4:00 pm EST
Join us on March 24, 2026, for South Carolina Day of Action at the Statehouse. This is an opportunity for parents, caregivers, educators, community leaders, and legislators to come together to hear the voices of those who care most about our children’s future.
Over 12 million children in Afghanistan need humanitarian aid to survive. No child deserves to suffer. Tell Congress: Send lifesaving relief to Afghanistan NOW.
Right now, 153 million kids are going hungry worldwide, including nearly 20% of all children here at home. Tell Congress: Kids are counting on us. Fully fund lifesaving programs like Food for Peace and WIC!
Every day, 24 mothers and 167 infants die from preventable causes in Afghanistan. No parent should have to watch their child suffer. No child should die waiting for help that never comes. Tell Congress: Stop the suffering. Restore humanitarian aid.
Volunteer with SCAN and join a community of changemakers! There are endless ways to channel your passion for helping kids: write letters to the editor, participate in local events, fundraise or meet with Congress. Don’t worry – we’ll provide the tools you need to be a powerful champion for children.

I have to give credit to SCAN’s Advocacy Summit for the ball of fire I’ve become. It pulled out a passion in me I never knew I had.
