Nutritious food is a necessity — not a luxury. SCAN is leading the fight to end child hunger by building relationships with lawmakers, activating our network of grassroots advocates and supporting sustainable solutions for the world’s hardest-to-reach communities.

Demand Action on Child Hunger
1 in 6 children are facing hunger in Iowa, but the USDA has cancelled millions of dollars of funding to support local food purchases for schools, child care centers, and food banks. We need more funding to fight hunger not less. Send a message: Fighting hunger must be a budget priority in Iowa.
Nearly 14 million kids are going hungry across the U.S. Growing bodies can’t survive and thrive like that. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a lifeline for struggling families. Tell Congress to protect SNAP!
Low-income Iowans are struggling to feed their families. The Iowa Senate will soon consider providing another million dollars in funding for the Double Up Food Bucks Program. This program provides dollar for dollar matching funds for SNAP recipients when they purchase fresh fruits and vegetables. Urge Iowa lawmakers to vote YES on SF 232.
