I want to give kids a strong start to life by providing them with the tools and resources to help them learn and grow. That is why I’m encouraging our state leaders to invest in high-quality early childhood programs.
We’re Empowering Kansans to Be the Voice for Kids
Kansas citizens overwhelmingly support investing in our kids, and especially early education.
This is key because research shows the first five years of children’s lives are critically important for their development.
SCAN volunteer advocates are on the ground in Kansas City and Lawrence, and gather once a month to plan how to make a difference for kids in their communities.
That meeting takes place online and/or on the phone the third Thursday of every month.

Lead Associate, Volunteer Engagement
Griffen joined SCAN in 2022, but has been an advocate his whole life. In 2016, he founded his own non-profit organization, We Are Able, to empower young people to be the change they want to see in the world. Throughout his career, he has led local and national campaigns to address issues of inequality. When not campaigning, you can most likely find Griffen rock climbing, doing yoga, or anything outdoors!
