Will Colorado Vote to Feed Kids?

September 30, 2025

Child nutrition is on the ballot in Colorado.

Two key measures – Propositions LL and MM – would strengthen Healthy School Meals for All (HSMA), the program that provides free breakfast and lunch to every public school student.

Let’s break them down:

  1. Prop LL: Allows the state to keep money already collected for HSMA.
  1. Prop MM: Provides ongoing funding for HSMA and supplies fresh ingredients from local farms. Leftover money will support the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which helps 300,000 Colorado families afford groceries.

Save the Children Action Network helped pass HSMA in 2022. Since then, the program has reduced cafeteria stigma, eased financial pressure on families and ensured kids are ready to learn.

Every child deserves the dignity of a healthy meal – and no family should have to choose between buying groceries or paying the bills.

Props LL and MM will keep this successful program going strong. Colorado, vote YES!

Fight for a Budget that Puts Kids First

The White House’s 2026 budget request is packed with deep cuts to lifesaving humanitarian aid, global health funding, school meals, and early childhood education. This is NOT the future children deserve. Tell Congress: Investing in kids is investing in America.
