Save the Children Action Network was an Early Supporter of Proposition FF, Mobilized Colorado Voters to Vote Yes November 9, 2022 – Save the Children Action Network (SCAN), a leading political voice for children, released the following statement on passage of Proposition FF, which would establish the Healthy School Meals for All program. “Combating hunger and food insecurity in our state is an issue we all can get behind, and tonight Coloradans made their voices heard to help further this shared goal,” said Annalise Romoser, Advisor for State and Electoral Campaigns, Western Region. “Save the Children Action Network was proud to be a part of this coalition to make Proposition FF a reality because this initiative will be instrumental in helping kids grow, learn and thrive. Providing free meals to kids in public schools is a wise investment and the right thing to do. SCAN volunteers reached out to thousands of voters over the last two months, asking for a “yes” vote on Proposition FF. We thank them for helping to secure this victory, and look forward to working with advocates to continue championing child nutrition.” SCAN was pleased to be a statewide partner with the Yes on FF campaign coalition, working to ensure passage of the ballot initiative. SCAN supported mobilizing Coloradoans by knocking doors, mailing postcards, sending text messages, and calling more than 17,400 voters. Supported by more than 100 organizations, the proposal establishes a program ensuring all kids in Colorado’s public school system starting next school year have access to free and nutritious breakfasts and lunches no matter their circumstance.
