NH Voters Want Action On Early Learning

Granite State Voters Want Action on Early Learning

A bipartisan survey commissioned by Save the Children Action Network (SCAN) and conducted by the bipartisan research team of Hart Research (D) and New Bridge Strategy (R) found overwhelming support for state funding to expand child care and preschool programs.

New Hampshire families, children, and the economy thrive when child care and preschool programs are accessible and affordable. A new bipartisan poll confirms that voters across the state want their legislators to act now to support these essential programs.

Broad Support for Child Care Funding

86% of voters say investing in child care is a “good use” of taxpayer dollars.

87% support maintaining $45.5M for child care scholarships for low- and moderate-income families.

88% support funding scholarships to help child care teachers afford care for their own children.

84% support voluntary preschool programs for low- and middle-income families.

New Hampshire VOTERS WANT ACTION ON CHILD CARE

Support for these investments crosses political lines:

  • 95% of Democrats
  • 86% of Undeclared voters
  • 66% of Republicans

Cutting child care funding isn’t just unpopular—it’s risky

Nearly 63% of voters say they would view their legislator less favorably if they voted to reduce funding for child care and preschool programs.
