Save the Children Action Network Applauds Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s Substantive Focus and Support for New Mexico Kids & Families in Final Gubernatorial Debate

October 12, 2022 – Save the Children Action Network (SCAN), the leading political voice for children, released the following statement applauding Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s performance in the second and final gubernatorial debate in New Mexico.

“This evening, Governor Lujan Grisham once again showed why she is the candidate best suited to serve on behalf New Mexico kids and families. Similar to the first debate, Governor Lujan Grisham provided both detailed answers and substantive, reform-minded solutions to the challenges facing our state. Her substantive record of results for kids during her first term, from expanding pre-k and making child care more affordable for working families to innovative approaches to addressing child hunger, is a testament to her proven ability to keep New Mexico moving forward,” said Lacey Daniell-Miller, New Mexico state manager for Save the Children Action Network.

SCAN volunteers gathered in Albuquerque this evening to watch the debate and demonstrate support for Governor Lujan Grisham outside the KOAT TV studios. Announced in September, Save the Children Action Network is currently spearheading a six-figure digital ad campaign in support of Michelle Lujan Grisham’s bid for governor, praising her work to expand early childhood education in New Mexico. The multifaceted fall campaign will encompass paid advertising and mobilization of targeted voters across the state in the run up to Election Day.
