Save the Children Action Network Applauds Governor Jared Polis’ Focus and Support for Colorado’s Youngest Learners During CBS4/Colorado Sun Debate

Oct.13, 2022 – Save the Children Action Network (SCAN), a leading political voice for children, tonight released the following statement applauding Gov. Jared Polis’ performance during a gubernatorial debate co-hosted by CBS4 Colorado and The Colorado Sun.

“Governor Jared Polis’ record of delivering for kids and families statewide was on full display tonight as he shared how he’s expanded access to early childhood learning and prioritized funds for Colorado’s youngest learners,” said Christy Gleason, SCAN’s Executive Director. “His work to make free full-day kindergarten and voluntary, tuition-free preschool for all Colorado children a reality will put kids on a successful path and give working parents more flexibility. Save the Children Action Network was proud to endorse Governor Polis for reelection because he’s helping current and future generations of kids thrive in Colorado and his efforts were evident during this debate.”

In September, SCAN endorsed Colorado Gov. Jared Polis’ reelection bid, noting that in his first term he’s delivered a number of major wins for children and families such securing free full-day kindergarten for every five-year-old in Colorado and championing quality universal preschool for every Colorado four year old regardless of zip code.
