Save the Children Action Network Endorses Megan Jones for Reelection

September 7, 2022

Legislator Has Worked to Advance Early Learning in Iowa September 7, 2022 – Today, Save the Children Action Network, a leading political voice for children, proudly endorsed Representative Megan Jones (R) for reelection for her proven record of fighting to advance learning opportunities.  “Save the Children Action Network is proud to endorse Representative Megan Jones for reelection due to her work on improving the quality of early childhood education in Iowa. As a mom, Megan has never hesitated to be outspoken on the role child care access and quality has on building a more productive workforce. Iowa’s children and families need experienced and proven legislators like Megan Jones to ensure a stronger economy and future for our state,” said Save the Children Action Network’s Iowa Manager E.J. Wallace.   Rep. Megan Jones, a Republican, is running for reelection in House District 6. Megan Jones’ (R- IA House District 6) Record:

  • Opposed legislation that would have reduced quality child care by increasing teacher-student ratios and allowing working or volunteering at child care facilities to be unsupervised.
  • Sponsored bills to address early learning provider challenges and child care workforce needs.
  • Brought her newborn daughter to the statehouse with her because of a lack of child care opportunities, so she knows first-hand how important it is to invest in these critical programs.
