In September, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers voted for a 30% cut to Head Start. As an advocate for Save the Children Action Network, I am disappointed she tried to cut a crucial program that supports parents trying to work and overcome poverty for themselves and the next generation.

Christina is the Washington State Manager for SCAN. She holds an MA in International Community Development from Northwest University in Kirkland, WA.
Christina is passionate about immigrant and refugee rights, and equipping families and communities to prevent early childhood adverse experiences. She believes that investing in the well-being of all children is an investment in our shared future.
In her free time Christina enjoys Latin dancing and travelling with her husband, creative writing, and quality time with their two very fluffy cats.

Daisy Cruz Lopez
Washington State Family Engagement Coordinator
Daisy is from Grandview, Washington, and has lived there the majority of her life. Over the course of her career, she has worked multiple positions from administration to teacher’s assistant.
Daisy is passionate about children’s rights, mental health, immigrant rights, and better working conditions for agricultural workers. She believes that every child should have a chance at an education and having a brighter future. As a volunteer with SCAN in 2022, she won the SCAN community impact award.
In her free time she likes to knit, spend time with her family, and walk her dogs.
