Here at Save the Children Action Network (SCAN), we spent last week honoring moms who have been working harder than ever for their kids.
In spite of their efforts, too many moms and young children in the U.S. struggle to get enough nutritious food. Programs like Women, Infants and Children (WIC) help put food on the table to raise strong, healthy kids. But WIC can work even better to help moms and kids thrive.
Thanks to our supporters and donors – like you – we made moms everywhere proud by raising awareness and calling on Congress to improve WIC!
- SCAN activists sent over 10,000 messages and held several meetings with their members of Congress to urge them to make the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) nutrition program work better for moms and kids.
- Over 120 of you joined us for a dynamic online discussion along with the National WIC Association about how to improve the program.
- You raised awareness about child hunger on social media with a Twitter chat and by sharing selfie shots calling for Congress to take action.
The selfie shots were my favorite part of this effort – take a look at these gems:
If you haven’t yet taken action it’s not too late! We’re trying to get another 2,000 signatures on our message to Congress – take a minute to take action today!
