Wednesday Wisdom from Mahatma Gandhi on peace and education

Nationwide, 17% of high school students failed to graduate on time in the 2014-15 school year. What’s even worse is that each year, an estimated 750,000 students drop out of school. Many experts say the critical time to address the dropout problem is in the earliest years of education, even before a child enters kindergarten. Children who enter school with learning levels that are not up to grade standards are more likely to drop out of school, which reduces their earnings potential and chance for success later at life. Education can transform a child’s life. Let’s make sure children do not miss the opportunity to learn.
