Jennifer Garner, an actress and Save the Children Trustee, knows that early education plays a critical role in shaping the future and success of children all across America, especially those stuck in poverty in rural communities. At this year’s National Governors Association Winter Meeting, she joined us to meet with several governors, urging them to invest in high-quality early learning in their states.
Additionally, Garner met with congressional staff this year to highlight the benefits of early learning programs like Head Start and home visiting. During her testimony before a congressional subcommittee, she urged members of Congress to support policies that help expand early education programs.
Garner made the case that without these high-impact programs, the lives of children are at risk.
“These programs change lives,” said Garner. “With so many kids already denied access to these effective programs, we need to increase funding for Head Start, not cut it.”
