Washington, D.C. (November 7, 2017) – Save the Children Action Network (SCAN) President Mark Shriver tonight congratulated Liza Poinier (District B) and Chuck Crush (District C) on their victories in the Concord School Board Race. SCAN endorsed Poinier and Crush in their races. SCAN did not make an endorsement in the District A race.

“I’d like to congratulate Liza Poinier and Chuck Crush on their victories tonight. We stand ready to work with each of them to expand full-day kindergarten in Concord. This is critical because high-quality early learning programs, including full-day kindergarten, help provide all kids with a strong start in life.

“SCAN was proud to endorse Poinier and Crush because they are committed to voting for full-day kindergarten and being fierce advocates for constituents and students from all different backgrounds. SCAN and our advocates communicated directly with more than 5,000 voters by making calls, knocking on doors and hosting outreach events in support of Poinier and Crush. I am grateful to residents in Concord for prioritizing kids with their votes.”

Shriver also congratulated District A’s winner Tom Croteau, who pledged during the campaign to support full-day kindergarten in his upcoming term. SCAN did not make an endorsement in District A because each candidate expressed support for full-day kindergarten.
