Washington, D.C. (March 13, 2017) – Save the Children Action Network (SCAN) released a new television and digital ad today that called on state legislators to follow Governor Sununu’s lead and authorize additional state funding for full-day kindergarten programs in New Hampshire.
The ad, which will air statewide on WMUR-TV, as well as digitally in targeted legislative districts throughout the state, will run while the House of Representatives considers the Governor’s budget proposal to increase state funding for full-day kindergarten programs.
“We thank Governor Sununu for his leadership in announcing a plan to invest in kids by providing additional targeted funding for full-day kindergarten programs in the Granite State,” said Mark Shriver, president of SCAN. “A full day of learning is critical to the social, emotional and intellectual development of New Hampshire’s kids and helps put them on a path toward success. We urge the state legislature to include full adequacy funding in the budget.”
The TV ad shows New Hampshire children waking up and getting ready for school while encouraging residents to call their lawmakers and ask them to support funding for full-day kindergarten.
