Washington, D.C. (September 13, 2016) – Save the Children Action Network (SCAN) President Mark Shriver released the following statement tonight on Colin Van Ostern’s victory in the New Hampshire Democratic gubernatorial primary race.
“I would like to congratulate Colin Van Ostern on his victory in tonight’s primary. Granite State voters selected a candidate who knows that in order to build a stronger economy where every child has the opportunity to succeed, New Hampshire must provide full-day kindergarten in every community and expand access to high-quality public preschool across the state. If Colin Van Ostern is elected governor, I am confident that he will work hard to give every child a strong start in life.
“SCAN looks forward to continuing to support him during the general election to ensure New Hampshire’s next governor will invest in kids.
“I would also like to congratulate Jeanie Forrester on her terrific campaign and thank her for her support of early childhood education.
“It was encouraging to see a large number of primary voters rally to Sen. Forrester as they learned more about her education policies. SCAN looks forward to continuing to engage Republican supporters of early childhood education in the months and years ahead in New Hampshire.”
