Washington, D.C. (January 18, 2018) – PR News has named Save the Children Action Network’s (SCAN) campaign to expand full-day kindergarten in New Hampshire as a CSR and Nonprofit Award finalist in the Advocacy Campaign and Lobbying Effort category.
In 2017, SCAN worked with advocates, New Hampshire state lawmakers and Governor Chris Sununu to increase state funding for full-day kindergarten programs across the state. Because of SCAN’s collective efforts, the state’s investment was permanently increased by at least $9 million per year, which could grow if more funds become available, expanding access to full-day programming for thousands of children.
“While we celebrate this accomplishment, we know there is much more work to do in New Hampshire to provide all kids access to high-quality early childhood education, which helps ensure a bright future not only for Granite State kids and families, but for the economy and state as a whole,” said Mark Shriver, president of SCAN.
The CSR and Nonprofit Awards recognize campaigns in 40+ categories including Community Affairs, Media Relations, Event PR, branding, Public Service Announcement and Social Media.
The winners will be announced on March 20 at the historic National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
