Raimondo gives details on universal pre-K program

Gov. Gina Raimondo’s proposal for universal pre-kindergarten education would add 540 new seats during the first year, and, if the funding continues, would reach 6,000 more children by year four.

A day after her State of the State address, Raimondo made her case for universal pre-kindergarten after posing for photographs with 4- and 5-year-olds at the Nathanael Greene Elementary School, which has two pre-K classrooms.
