In Colorado, children may only be a quarter percent of the population, but they are 100 percent of our future. Early childhood development is the best long-term investment we can make for prosperity and economic growth in the Centennial State.
In recent years, Colorado has made strides in providing early learning and quality child care to young children, but we still fall short. While a large number of Colorado schools have increased access to full-day kindergarten over time despite inadequate funding, there are still 14,000 children without access to this important educational resource.
