Washington, DC. (November 14, 2017) – Save the Children Action Network (SCAN) this week placed a radio buy in Las Vegas that asks Nevada residents to call Senator Dean Heller and urge him to expand the child care tax credit in the Senate’s tax reform plan.
The advertisement encourages Senator Heller to ensure that the bipartisan Promoting Affordable Childcare for Everyone (PACE) Act, which he has sponsored, is part of the Senate’s final tax reform package. The PACE Act would expand and enhance the Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit (CDCTC) and help more working families afford child care and early childhood education programs.
The Senate’s initial plan released last week merely maintains the child care tax credit.
“Providing access to affordable high-quality child care is essential in supporting our nation’s workforce,” said Mark Shriver, President of SCAN. “I thank Senator Heller for his support of the PACE Act and encourage him to work with his colleagues to include language from the bill into the Senate’s tax reform plan as they make amendments this week. All kids deserve a strong start in life, and expanding the child care tax credit will help give them one.”
The 60-second ad, which will run this week in the Las Vegas market, can be heard here.
